  • GPSproblems,"WiFi Calling"on locked screen + Led notif on signal / whatsapp

Hi all,
I am facing few problems.

  1. There is no LED blink / notifications when Whatsapp or Signal message arrive. Is this normal?
  2. Waze / GPS takes hours to pick up GNSS / GPS, no matter if I am in open space or inside building. Once it takes hours other times it takes 1-2s even when in basement?! Installed GPS test app and it is same.
  3. When I double tap screen while locked, strange "WiFi Calling" shows in the top left corner? Once I unlock the phone, it dissapears?
Is any of above points normal with GOS? I have pixel 9.

Thanks!

What Pixel do you have that has LED light?
No issues for me when I try to acquire GPS satellites on outsides (impossible to acquire when at indoors)
Disable WiFi calling at Android settings if do not like to have WiFi calling

      cdflasdkesalkjfkdfkjsdajfd Hi,
You might just solved issue number 1 by simply asking if it actually has LED on the top where front camera is :) I had no idea pixel 9 does not have it?

Ok, so not just me having issues with GPS. Strangely, won't get signal even outside for hours, or throughout entire car travel. Then gets signal in a basement :D odd.

In relation to WiFi calling, I am not making any calls yet it says Wi Fi calling on locked screen. Is this a bug, functionality or something else? Should it show up while not making or receiving calls?

kult I think no one Pixel has notifications LED, at least no one since Pixel 6
WiFi calling is normal than "Wifi Calling" string appears on lock screen if they have been enabled at settings. It indicates that the ability to use WiFi calls is enabled not indicates that one Wifi call is connected. You can disable at android settings -> Networks -> SIMs ;)

          kult

You can enable ambient display in the Settings. It's what replaced the notification LED many years ago for Pixels with the Pixel 3. The device remains asleep while part of the display is powered on to show the last update.

Not normal. Make sure you aren't blocking connections to PSDS and SUPL somehow. You didn't disable them, right? You might be blocking them with some network filtering.

GrapheneOS Thank you for your reply. This is my first Pixel and I got it just to get GOS :)
Unfortunately I do not understand what PSDS or SUPL are or where to check those options. Guidance would help a lot:)

GrapheneOS I found PSDS and SUPL options and I use GOS options. Tried other option, rebooted phone, same problem. I don't have many apps etc and I can't figure out how would I be blocking it :(

kult If GPSTest can't establish location lock outside with up-to-date orbital data for hours, that might indicate a hardware problem with the GPS receiver. You might want to flash the device back to Google's OS, test again (with GPSTest) and maybe look into a warranty exchange.

de0u Hm... Good point you just made, however, I used google OS for 3 weeks or so, with waze and gps test and had no problems, With GOS have problems, so maybe, it is to do with security or rerouting traffic, don't know, I keep working on it.. Thank you.
