Can't add a 5th fingerprint

I've registered 4 fingerprints so far, and would like to register a 5th, but it's not possible anymore. I don't know if it's a feature or a bug.
When i try to add this 5th fingerprint, i have the "touch and hold the fingerprint sensor" screen, but the icon of the fingerprint (where the sensor is) does not appear. I try to touch the sensor and i don't have any haptic vibration. So basically i can't add the 5th fingerprint. I just have the text and a white screen.
Latest GrapheneOS on Pixel 7.

I too see this issue on the latest release with my Pixel 7 Pro.

@MetropleX I don't know if you're aware of this issue, but it seems to be structural, not rare

poubellier 5 Fingerprints is a hardcoded limit and has been that way since Pixel 6, there is a workaround if you wish to have more but this requires alternating fingers for each input on one slot.

This obviously can impact on consistency for unlocking etc though so YMMV.

MetropleX I know 5 fingerprints is the limit. What i meant (and i am not alone in this situation) is that the bug i'm decribing is we're currently limited to 4 fingerprints.
The system does not let us register a 5th one.
