Thunderbird not checking e-mail automatically

TB works fine for me even with the default (Optimized) battery power. I have auto-pull on specific folders every hour. But remembering push worked before, too.

Are you looking for a specific IMAP folder or the default Inbox?

So turn off the notification and be happy.

Hint: The foreground service notification you are complaining about is a different notification channel from the email notifications, so you'll still be notified as you expect to be.

Push is no longer in global receive email setting, it's now in each folder setting.
Is it activated for you in the folders you want to use push?

It has nothing to do with GOS.

And the solution is to configure the below:

Android Settings > Apps > Special App Access > Alarms & Reminders > Thunderbird > Allow Setting Alarms And Reminders = On

Just FYI - mine is off (not allowed) and notifications work fine (scheduled pull). Again, the OP should check the folder sync and notification settings (Manage Folders).

No, because the OP had already stated that Push would already work, which would make that completely obsolete.

There's no reason to use Pull when Push can be used instead.

So, this was the issue of folder sync and notification settings, indeed. Thunderbird is not present at all in "Alarms & Reminders" special permissions section, but after setting the sync settings for folders it works in pull mode and it works for push too (even after removing the "waiting for email" notification). Thanks. :-)

It would be there, when following the instructions from the Thunderbird Android manual (which is not the GOS forum), which does not instruct to set the battery background usage to Unrestricted: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/configure-push-email-thunderbird-android

Indeed it appears there after disabling unrestricted battery use, which I enabled trying to solve the lack of notifications, thanks. :-)
