herndlm According to https://support.google.com/pixelphone/answer/7157629#zippy=%2Cpixel-a there's a top and a bottom speaker. And the bottom speaker works just fine for calls on speaker phone. But for music/videos only the top speaker is used. Are other people experiencing the same? I think both should be used. Could this be something that is misconfigured?
[deleted] No I have been using Pixel 6a for the past 2 moths straight and have nit had any issues like that. I recommend you to ask Google Support Centre.
herndlm @[deleted] oh interesting, so e.g. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6TWJaFD6R2s works fine for you for the right speaker when you put your phone in landscape mode? I tested with the NewPipe app and Firefox browser and in both cases I can only hear it very very faintly on the right / down side. BUT, it works perfectly fine for calls in speaker mode 🤷♂️ I also just tried blowing out the speaker slightly with compressed air, no changes. it doesn't feel like a HW issue to me hmm
[deleted] Having the same 6a, I can confirm that both speakers are in use for music and video. You can for sure find a mono record, but normally both speakers are in use.
herndlm interesting. I'm too lazy to flash stock and play around or send it in then if not working, but sounds like I should do that :/
herndlm well good news. I did a factory reset (no flash of stock or whatever) and it started to work again. very weird, but I was pretty sure that this wasn't a HW problem
