I'm getting this message each morning. I use proton VPN with kill switch so it might be related to having no internet access.

"Unable to resolve the server name.

Details:
java.net.UnknownHostException: Unable to resolve host "apps.grapheneos.org": No address associated with hostname"

I'm not sure which app it's coming from but seems like a system error or one from the grapheme app store.

Is this a problem? What do I need to do about this?

FlipSid no. Kill switch is active to have lower chance of leading my ip

I had this happen with another VPN provider. It had to do with the VPN server I was connected to having the IP flagged. Changing / Refreshing my VPN connection cleared it up for me.

Once the error is cleared it usually doesn't come back. Seems like it happens when the device restarts at night. Does it seem like a security issue, or can I just ignore it? I don't plan to switch from proton.

plantmom I also wasn't planning on leaving free tier of Proton, but recently I was starting to have MTE crashes with frequent disconnections of always on VPN to a point where I decided it is not worth to carry on and I wound up with Mullvad. So far so good.

plantmom This is not a problem and normal behavior. ProtonVPN has not established a secure VPN connection directly after first log on, which is why the Kill Switch is still in action. This causes all requests to be blocked with the error message you described. The GrapheneOS App Store will check for updates right after first log in, which is a bit too quick for Proton to catch up on. Thus, the first request will fail, but any subsequent update checks by the app store are then likely to come through. There should be no need to worry - you can try to manually update by opening the App Store and doing it there, just to be sure it works at all.
