I want help customizing GrapheneOS notifications.

Hey folks,

I am a bit of a notification tweak aholic & I was wondering if there is more customization beyond the pre configured settings.

I want to able to fine tune notification sounds and icons for specific apps. Is there a way to achieve this on GrapheneOS??
Are there any suggestion tools or tweaks for customizing notifications beyond the stock settings?
As a Java developer I want to know about the underlying mechanisms for notification delivery and if there are any potential customization points at the framework level.

I'm not sure about a lot of this however

inaraghj fine tune notification sounds for specific apps.

Not sure entirely what you mean by this but if you mean changing the notification sound on a per app basis or silencing specific apps you can definitely do that.

Hi! Did you figure anything out? I changed the default notification sound that GrapheneOS comes with (pixie dust ) and since messages use the default sound, it got changed there too.l automatically.

But there's an option to change the message notification sound directly in messages app settings, so I changed it back to Pixie Dust - however it doesn't work for me.
Messages still follows the default notification sound..
