It's possible they're banning using it in secondary profiles. It may only work in the Owner user. That would explain only some users having issues. Owner user has some extra legacy paths for compatibility which aren't provided in secondary users. We could potentially solve that ourselves but it's an Android thing and no apps should have issues with secondary profiles after so many years.
