The irony that an old Samsung with stock Andriod without security updates is my new Dumb Phone. Or just stop using Revolut app/bank as a services is a better option.

GrapheneOS I really was hoping for another feedback from you, because that issue almost definitely is not connected to Play Integrity, because otherwise the Revolut apps would not run on plain vanilla crDroid without GAPPS/microG.

The catch is, this issue really is a show-stopper for a lot of people (including myself and my whole family), because Revolut can just not be replaced by any other service, as it's more than just a personal banking app, but also investing, for business and a crypto currency exchange (hence three different apps: Revolut, Revolut Business and Revolut X; all three causing the same issue).

Is there a reason to believe that current Revolut versions will work for new customers on crDroid later this year? Form what I understood, whatever solution they are having, it won't work in a few months and is therefore (apart from security reasons) not worth implementing.

N1b Why not? If Google services are not being installed on crDroid the solution does not depend on Google's efforts to suppress it.

N1b Indeed a misconception, it has nothing to do with Google Services at all. The reason why the Revolut apps are working on crDroid very likely is not on purpose, but something they do differently than all the other custom ROMs.

MasterOne hopefully grapheneos find an alternative fix... the issue is only while logging in. Once logged in it works. Mine updates and still working but mine was already signed in and I never logged out.

SilverCat38 Yes, I know, I'm using all three (up-to-date) Revolut apps on my phone with an older crDroid version and regular Magisk Stable without problems, since I was already logged in before they made that crazy move.

So to be clear once again, the "custom ROM" / "rooted ROM" check ONLY occurs during the login-phase. Once done the unknown obstacles do not occur anymore. The "rooted ROM" currently can be bypassed by using Magisk Alpha, but there is no known solution for the "custom ROM" yet (except using crDroid). And NO, it has nothing to do with Play Integrity!

Is there any way to "transplant" the logged in state from an older device to a newer one? I just bought Pixel 9 Pro Fold and ran into this issue, but my older Pixel 7 Pro still has a working Revolut installed on it. I hadn't tried using the built-in backup solution as I prefer setting up my devices from scratch (so that I don't compromise my new device if I'd done something stupid on the previous one), but if that could help me I'd give it a shot. I'm honestly just looking for confirmation from someone who knows how GOS works that I won't be nuking my newly setup phone for nothing. Cheers :)

MasterOne thank you for answering that question and saving me a bunch of time and work :). Guess all I can do now is contact the Revolut support, write a Play Store review and hope Revolut devs decide to fix the issue.

Some apps only use the Play Integrity API when available and don't yet enforce having it. Not having Google Play or it not having network access may actually be helpful for getting some apps working if they don't have a hard dependency on it. There are a lot of misguided things that an app can do to block it being used on specific operating systems and this app is likely doing multiple, so changing any one particular thing won't help. It may detect several of the hardening features used by GrapheneOS including exec-based spawning and exec-based spawning is needed to disable several of the other exploit protections. We could make changes to hide that exec-based spawning is used but we'd need to know it's going to improve something.

I'm devastated. I rely on Revolut for my finances. Just accidentally logged out, and cannot log back in, afaiu there are currently no possible workarounds, even going back a few versions doesn't work, right?

I naively also thought that it looks like we are stock Android users, but it seems we are even more distinguishable than anyone else?

Do you still have any tips? I would not like to leave Revolut, but even leaving would require that I could at least once log back in, move my money, and close my account.

I would be happy to put time and effort in this (in my limited ways). Many thanks.

That's unfortunate... Currently all ideas and workarounds with root, custom roms or system files are very jittery and unlikely to be sustainable in my opinion.

I'd say find a cheap phone to use for Revolut exclusively. Maybe you can use a trusted friend's or family member's phone as well. Or flash back PixelOS on your current phone, but you'll lose all data and settings that are not backed up and obviously access to GOS security and privacy features...

Apparently Revolut has blacklisted a bunch of build.prop properties.

I am on lineage, and I’ve commented all the “ro.lineage.*” props. App now is working as intended.

Lopicl great find! I don't use Revolut but this thread has been topping the charts lately and I've been following it. Sounds like this "lead" has resulted in at least a temporary fix! Props to you.

DeletedUser370 it's not something I advise the end user to do, because it might break OS specific things like updates.

This thing i did involves having root access and modifying /system/build.prop

I did this only out of curiosity of finding a solution, but it is a thing that is up to the OS maintainers to decide to do or not. It might be out of discussion for graphene OS and other OSes, but I cannot tell because I am not a dev.

admin I'm not in favor of that OS at all, it's just that it proves the point, that the GrapheneOS team is wrong assuming that it has anything to do with Play Integrity.
