vitali_F I am used to pattern unlock, its more memorable than pin and i can do it without looking at the phone.
unwat vitali_F It was removed because it's less secure. Too many people use easy to guess patterns and they're easier to shoulder surf and unlock another person's phone.
mythodical I believe you're looking for... Settings > Security > Screen lock > Swipe Edit: Disregard, sorry. I haven't used the pattern lock in ages, but it does seem to be removed (likely because of its low security strength).
vitali_F mythodical I suspected that its not possible. But shouldn't the user have the option? I for one like it very much. Instead I am going to have use pin 0000 which is also not secure, so I dont forget.
MetropleX Pattern Unlocks are objectively insecure and leaving insecure elements in the system of the OS is antithetical to the scope and aims of the project. Pixel 7 face unlock will likely never be implemented for the same reason that it isn't as secure as that which was available on the Pixel 4. https://www.ndss-symposium.org/wp-content/uploads/2017/09/ndss2017_03A-5_Ye_paper.pdf Plenty of studies such as that have been done to demonstrate it. GrapheneOS has a reputation for it's high standards in the field. Should we leave it in out of simple user choice and then someone using it is exploited, the headline won't read: "User who ignores advice has phone exploited" but instead will say "GrapheneOS Exploited" and is something that could do incredible reputational damage to the project.
