McDonalds app not working

So I recently installed graphene OS so really a newbie.
I so far found out that banking apps seem to have problems, but I can live with that,since I can still do it on my PC.
But I just realized that my McDonalds app isn't working either. And I don't want to come across like a fat bastard, but I'm really attached to my horrendous amount of bonus points I have.
so is there any way to solve this issue?

As far as I'm aware, McDonalds does integrity checks that GrapheneOS can't pass, unfortunately.

Iswear The McDonalds app is known to enforce something called Google Play Integrity in strong mode, which means that the app disallows being run on anything but an OS that has been certified by Google – which GrapheneOS is not. For an OS to become certified by Google, it needs to give deep system integration to certain Google services. There's nothing GrapheneOS users can do to bypass the Play Integrity enforcement other than to try to convince McDonalds to allow GrapheneOS, which they can do by using attestation.

Iswear Which app are you trying specifically? There are multiple McDonalds apps for different countries.

McDonalds App here in Germany works with Graphene OS without any Problem....

phone-company Are you using the German version of the app? The "standard" version is named McDonald's, but there is a German one named "McDonald's Deutschland".

I can confirm that here in Italy it doesn't work. I'm using the "McDonald's" app.

I was curious about the app and I was able to sign up for an account on the "McDonald's" app by "McDonalds USA, LLC"

I was able to use the McDonald's app until November 14, 2025 in the USA. The app was updated and has had various issues. The first issue after November 14, 2025 was the App would work to make purchases and for points. Rewards stopped working.
A few days later, after I had reached out to McDonalds, the app started claiming that it wasn't near McDonalds to get a code. After holding up lines multiple times, I've decided to go elsewhere.
So far Burger King works.

Wager2020 I was using the McDonald's app in USA up until like Oct. It worked most of the time. I have since delete my account and app so I can't say since nov 14th. However even prior to then I would ocassionally have issues where the rewards just wouldn't work. I could use the app but my reward s wouldn't work. Even if I used it in drive thru or at register. It one reason I stopped going. I don't actually think its phone os issue I think it might be them penalizing you specifically for maybe using multiple rewards within a short peirid of time or something. Cause the issue happen twice but then fixed itself.
Now I just go to burger king. Its better anyway imo. You can use the mobile site if you don't want to download app. That's what I do.
