Microphone not working on Google Pixel Pro 7

I'm using the GraheneOS phone app. I've given it permission to use the microphone. When I try to make a call the microphone is muted and I can't turn it on.

any suggestions welcome.

dfranzen While you may have given the app the "Microphone" permission, did you enable the "Mic access" toggle? If not, the person on the other end of the line will not be able to hear you.

I do the swipe down twice from the top menu and yes it is on

My microphone works only when the speaker is on

dfranzen in that case you likely have a hardware issue. Speaker mode uses a different microphone.

The same thing observed on Pixel 6a running version 2024112700. I've setup two identical 6a for my parents and recently on both devices the microphone does sometimes not work when making calls with the GrapheneOS phone app.

I've checked the permissions and that mic is not muted.
Same problem calling again.
Making Signal calls works (when previously not workning for regular calls).
A restart have solved the problem temporarily.
I haven't tested speaker mic.
I haven't tested other phone app.

I'm learning. Thank you. I don't have a warranty so I will have to figure out how to get it repaired.

i have experienced this issue on multiple devices, mostly my p7p though. I am now on a p9p and it doesnt happpen as often. Ultimately I came to a guesstimate that it was a provider/tower and SIM negotiation issue. I tried a number of combinations of roaming and preferred network configs. If I was out and about, the issue would go away after hanging up the call and reconnecting after getting in range of another tower. When at home, I would have to restart.
In any case, it is a good habit to restart your phone every morning.I was not so strict about it, but with the call issues, I began to adhere to my own advice more.

It has not happened on my p9p. I have continued to restart my phone every morning :-)
