Bank app in Private space to be default for nfc contactless payments?

Hi, I'm considering to replace separate "fin" user profile with private space of owner and I'm trying to understand how robust/ready is PS for that atm.

Has someone managed to make bank app working for contactless payments via clean/proper install and config? what's the process? what's your GOS build if you've managed to?

p.s. I propose to "fork" the bank nfc topic from the main A15 thread as it's hard to follow that mix of messages.

vagrantly321 turns out that after installing the same bank app also on the private space, in the NFC settings I still see this bank app with the private space little icon but now I see also the same bank app without this icon, which is the one from the Owner profile. So I picked this one without the icon as the default and now the Owner bank app gets picked every time for NFC payments, even with or without the Private Space open. This is great since it solves my problem and I can pay with the phone, I just hope that this workaround or anyway this double app thing (owner + private space) won't stop being visible inside the NFC settings without a proper NFC fix.
Btw In the private space I didn't have to activate the same bank app, somehow it was enough that it is installed for me to see inside the NFC settings the Owner app.

Hey, thanks for sharing! So if I understood your setup correctly you have the same banking app installed on both the Owner profile and the PS. Does your banking app requires Google Services for it to function? If so, do you have GS installed on both the Owner profile and PS?

DeletedUser59 By making payments you mean NFC payments? If so, no. But I am able to use the app and do transactions, check balance etc.

banjon it's interesting, as Samsung allows making NFC payments from their private space solution (secure folder).

mmobder Interesting... If I remember correctly, Secure Folder existed on Samsung phones long before Private Space. Maybe that Secure Folder is more similar to Work profile? I am just guessing, I have not used either of them.

Just for the record, my status update on Private Space is the same when it comes to making NFC payments. I have moved other apps to that environment and they work as expected. I moved my eSIM app (which did not work on separate profile), works fine. Android Auto works (but I only use it for navigation so I cannot comment on other functionality much). What is interesting is that I have an app that uses NFC to open gates and it works fine in Private Space.

What is interesting is that I have an app that uses NFC to open gates and it works fine in Private Space.

I'm collecting here some inputs (latest set is in the msg #7) for those who would like to choose what user scheme (owner+PS, multi-user, etc) is optimal for their case. Do I understand correctly, that for you:

eSIM mgmt app(s) does not work in non-owner profile, but it does work in PS?
Android Auto works in both non-owner profile and PS?
Any limitations on that gate app in either non-owner or PS?

Any other limitation of non-owner or PS that you've noticed so far that can help others to choose?
