Privacy respecting Apps?

Hey,
i was searching for a good privacy respecting Gallery and File App. At the moment I'm not yet on GrapheneOS and because of that, my Device has only LineageOS Gallery and File Manager App. Both have good Target SDK and Minimum SDK but they don't show File Sizes and I want better privacy respecting Alternatives. So I'm searching for those and if someone knows good, I would appreciate if it could be recommended here.

Very happy with it.

For files the stock Files app works well enough for my uses.

ErnestThornhill i can't see what he may have replied to the other guy, or as a general reply, only where he tagged me via mail notifications.

It has 2 Tracker which is not privacy respecting and it is not Privacy focused, from what I see.

To respond to this, u probably typed the app in exodus or something similar and it showed u 2 trackers; Crashlytics and Firebase analytics.

However this is for the play store version of the app. I provided u the f-droid variant.

r134a No I downloaded the universal APK on Github. And downloading it from F-Droid is worse, because of the Security Issues of the Main F-Droid Repo.

However, i can't speak for the github version, but i'm almost certain that on the f-droid version firebase analytics isn't allowed.

Those are probably, in case of f-droid version, dummy classes detected by exodus.

This happens sometimes as the developer creates a app for play store, and from same codebase a stripped down app for f-droid. The classes could be there but probably empty for f-droid variant. Exodus detects those classes and signals trackers.

r134a as a hint, perform a new analysis of FDroid version. Comes up with 0 trackers. Libchecker did not confirm existence of Google libraries. Exodus report is from July and is for the Play Store version.

axl What makes Fossify Gallery the best? I used it back when it was Simple Gallery and it didn't seem all that unique, especially since the advanced image editor is actually a proprietary 3rd-party library.

At least a couple years ago, Simple/Fossify Gallery also couldn't view motion photos taken with Pixel Camera. Aves Libre can.

LinkSheet is a really nice one, thank you for the recommendation! Out of curiosity how do you come across such apps?‌ They're not on FDroid and scouring Github for random tidbits isn't doable compared to a polished app store like FD or Play
