You can still use the standard google apps wherever you cant find a convenient or aesthetically appealing alternative, while you get used to Android; you still get privacy benefits over iOS with google play sandboxing and other forms of hardening that come with GrapheneOS. It might help you adjust if you start by using GrapheneOS like stock android, and then transitioning to a more private and secure workflow. In the end you will enjoy better privacy and security than reverting to iOS. However, try Aves for photos, and Proton Calendar, as they work nicely, and in my opinion, they look nicer than Google Photos and Calendar.
brandy078 Also big miss for me is that i can't stream music from apple music (I do have a family subscription plan) or movies on my TV or HiFi receiver.

brandy078 Things I also miss are Airdrop, iMessage (all my family uses iPhones) Apple Maps and Apple Mail. I use an iMac as well. And if good or not: The Apple ecosystem has some benefits.
With google messages, you can use RCS, which gives some of the features of iMessage back if you cannot convince people to switch to Signal, which has most of the functionality of iMessage and Facetime. Google messages may be invasive, but RCS encrypts your messages, which is an improvement over SMS/MMS.
brandy078 What i don't like are some shortcomings in the integration of apps. For example: I use bit warden as PW manager. sometimes it works automatically when using Vandium or Brave. But most of the time i have to open it manually search for the right pw, copy and paste and so on. That is just annoying.
When you start typing in a password field, you should have the option to open Bitwarden from your keyboard and choose the password after unlocking it (this works on FUTO keyboard at least), or save the password that you just entered to Bitwarden. After doing that the first time, your keyboard should now show you an option for the specific password for that website, and after clicking that, it autofills your password conveniently. You only need to login by opening Bitwarden and searching manually after the first login.
