GOS Stock Messaging App No Longer Sends MMS Images

11/14/2024 - GOS stock messaging app stopped sending MMS images. It's worked seamless for months and abruptly stopped sending pics/images via MMS, continues to time out. Standard SMS text work fine. I'm using the Main/Admin Profile. I haven't changed any settings and have unlimited data plan.

I've tried:

sending via Wifi and Mobile
Remove & reinstall sim card
clear cache
reset to original mobile data settings
all suggestions in previous posts

Anyone else having same issue? Any solution recommendations?

JackHance Which build number of GrapheneOS are you running? Which cellular carrier?

JackHance There was a bug in android. Do you primarily use your phone inside of a user profile?

you can test it by sending mms on the owner profile, if it succeeds there and not in a user profile, you need to install updates.

I've been having similar issues using Google Messages app - not the stock one. Past couple of days, MMS cannot send - mostly to IOS users (will be testing this further over the weekend). For me, a phone reboot fixes the issue for a bit - then it starts again. I need to test more to be able to supply useful info.

It appears that this MMS issue resolved late yesterday. I'm able to send MMS image files now. Not sure if GOS made a patch or verizon fix. My wife has verizon and never had any MMS issues, so I think GOS made a patch. It's resolved at the moment. Thank you all!

I have the same issue on Pixel 7, tried to send an image by the default msg app only for it to fail in the default profile.
Built number : 2024112700
Error msg: Message not sent: service not activated on network.

That might indicate a carrier issue. Maybe try a network reset? https://grapheneos.org/usage#carrier-functionality

Hello,

i have the same problem now with the current GrapheneOS (Build-Number: 2025060200).
In the past is working. But now only MMS receiving works. If i send a MMS i get the error-message:
Message not sent: service not activated on network.

Can anybody help here?

Its not a provider-Issue. The provider check my mms-settings and the settings are fine.

This fixed my recent MMS issue with the stock messaging app on T-Mo. If you are on T-Mobile start using this alternate APN: epc.tmobile.com. Google for how to add an APN to a Pixel, plenty of vids or tutorials.
