I'm thinking of getting a SIM but I'm not sure whether to get a physical or eSIM.

What is better? From a privacy/security perspective. I'm not sure if I like that an eSIM is embedded into the phone, rather than a physical SIM that can be easily removed.

Thanks :)

They both are trackable if you live in a country where even prepaid ones are issued only under passport.
Other thing is the esim itself - does your provider lets you add and remove esim for free? If not, there is a problem, because if you wanna go somewhere unattended, you just remove physical sim from the phone and put it back when you are done, and when moving esim isn't free, well...

[deleted] Okay. I was unaware that you had already done so since you didn't state it in your initial post.

Unlike the physical sim, the esim is tied to the device once it is set up, and then cannot work with any other device.

That is, if there is any way in which the esim configuration can be stolen, theoretically it is more unlikely that they can use it.
