airplane mode leak?

so i just logged into my gmail account on my pc and needed a otp code, i had airplane mode enabled with wifi on and i recieved the otp text message without disabling airplane mode, how? im using a google pixel 6 and im on the latest grapheneos update, im also not signed into google on my phone

joegoe1029 Just to clarify, it was an SMS text message right? If so, consider opening an issue in the GrapheneOS issue tracker so the developers can investigate.

joegoe1029 Are you sure it was a SMS text message and not a notification on the phone? I believe you can receive a security code notification directly to your phone if your phone is signed into that Google account.

You have airplane mode enabled while connected to WiFi. Of course you'd be able to receive the text message.

To clarify, Wi-Fi calling enables both calling and texting so this is expected behaviour. There are however plans to allow disabling the IPsec tunnel which enables this functionality. See here.

duck1 according to phnx his post, i've learned something new as well as it seems texting (sms) in addition to calling is also possible while wifi-calling is enabled.

With that in mind, this could indeed be considered expected behavior, and consequently make a github issue redundant in my opinion.
