Lukas When I try to add a search engine to Vanadium, it doesn't appear in the list after making a query.
de0u Lukas I think it doesn't work for incognito searches. Was this a regular search? Which search engine(s)?
ErnestThornhill You can add any search engine which implements OpenSearch. https://discuss.grapheneos.org/d/384-how-do-i-enter-my-own-search-engine-in-vanadium https://discuss.grapheneos.org/d/57-add-search-engine-neeva/8
missing-root Mullvad Leta supports Opensearch (popup in firefox desktop) but it is not shown in vanadium
DeletedUser87 Lukas Brave Search is available in Vanadium by default, no? At least I can't remember adding it there manually.
DeletedUser87 Lukas weird, for me it is. Checked in different profiles where I definitely didn't set it up. Maybe because I installed Brave Browser in these profiles?
DeletedUser87 Lukas system language is English. Maybe try changing it to something else? Just remember where the setting is to change it back.
Lukas DeletedUser87 Just changed it to English and the list of search engines changed, still no Brave Search though.
DeletedUser87 from a different thread: Got it. Incognito wasn't on when I was trying before. But Allow Third Party Cookies was set to disabled. After enabling that, I could set search.brave.com as my search engine through the now-showing Recent option. Many thanks.
chaimleib I also tried making a search on Brave and checking my settings. There is no Recent option showing for me, and nothing about Brave Search there. I tried enabling third-party cookies and clearing my browsing data, but those also didn't help.
chaimleib yore It is a GET request. I'm seeing https://search.brave.com/search?q=test&source=brave.com&lang=en in my address bar.
DeletedUser69 This is interesting, I can add Brave search as a default even with Javascript turned off (Pixel 9 Pro XL, latest stable update).
