Not sure if this is a general Android or usbguard issue.
I use usbguard on my Fedora Linux laptop now and it works great. Normal devices like a USB stick or mouse can be allowed (also graphically with usbguard-notifier).
But with my GrapheneOS phone there are multiple issues
- every connection mode (tethering, data, webcam) makes the phone appear as a new device. Not a huge issue per se
- but allowing it still doesnt allow me to use MTP. I have not tried webcam and usb tethering. No mtp devices available
- plugging out and in again makes it appear as a new device, which makes this pretty problematic ux-wise. The 2nd issue makes this worse.
Any idea why mtp is broken even after allowing the device, when plugged in in data transfer mode?
Any reason why the ID changes or something? Is this important or can this be turned off?
