someone27281 I'm unable to reproduce the issue when following the provided steps, on the same OS version on Pixel 8. I tried with two new profiles. Are there any more details you could provide around the issue? Are you able to reproduce it consistently?

Just my 2 cents and speculation, but is it possible it has something to do with keyboard layout? Are you sure you typed your password correctly if it was a different keyboard layout?

I have several user accounts aswell with passwords, which all are configured with another keyboard layout. However, if i restart the phone, the keyboard layout to login is always US qwerty. If i type my regular pattern fast, my passwords are also 'wrong', because some keys are different on us qwerty and my keyboard. Could this be the case here?

r134a yep, I tried it several times. I had to restart to fix it. It sometimes doesn't occur tho. I did it through the steps, but others here say they can't? Weird.

someone27281 what happens if you dismiss the keyboard using the down arrow in the bottom left-hand corner then try again? Does it accept your password then?

Securious_Forge As far as I can tell, this is an upstream bug. I have the same issue. As you can see, I suggested dismissing the keyboard and trying again here other8026

I don't know if this is relevant, but

Owner profile has no Sandboxed Play
Owner has private space with play
Added sandboxed play in newly created account at first time login I think. But now thinking about it, it might not have finished installation.

Maybe try to install sandboxed play, switch back and forth during the installation?

If u are comfortable with mentioning what keyboard layout u use, and if u use the default keyboard or another one, might be relevant data aswell for the people trying to reproduce.

r134a standard keyboard layout? I didn't change anything, I use English (US) as the region. I'm unfamiliar with keyboard layouts.

I've been having a similar issue (I'm using a Pixel 8). This has persisted for me since my first upgrade into an Android 15-based build on the Stable channel (I think that might've been build 2024101700? I'm not sure. I can't find where in GOS' release notes whether a specific build was actually released to Stable). Here are my reproduction steps.

Be on a pre-Android 15 build of GOS
Create secondary user profile.
Disable fingerprint-based unlocking for all user profiles (Primary and Secondary). Use only alphanumeric passwords (no PINs) for all profiles (again, both Primary and Secondary)
Upgrade to any Android 15-based build of GOS
Switch from Primary user to any of your Secondary users and try to unlock via password.
System will tell you that you have a wrong password regardless of how careful you typed.
(Workaround) Tap your Pixel's power button (the button on the side of your Pixel that isn't a volume button) once to put it to sleep. Tap it again moments later to wake it back up. Now try to unlock via password.
The phone unlocks normally (assuming you actually typed your password and made no typos, of course).

Diagnostic info:
Phone: Pixel 8
Android Version: 15
Current Build: 2024110700
Current Channel: Beta (Switched to Beta in the hope I'll get an update that fixes this bug a bit sooner)

Edit: Because I saw some people asking OP this, my keyboard is using the default for the en-US region (American QWERTY layout, in other words). I am using the default keyboard app provided with GOS.

someone27281 As I mention in my reproduction steps above, I have a less time-consuming workaround - just tap the power button to put your phone to sleep (from the password prompt) then tap the power button again to wake your phone back up. I find my password works then. Hope that saves you some time and sanity (as opposed to rebooting your phone every time).

other8026 oh hey. Dismissing the keyboard doesn't work, but if you go fully back to the normal lockscreen and relaunch the password field (I hope you understand what I am trying to say), then it works normally.

I think it's the issue with password input field.
