Apologies if this is a noob issue, but I'm new to this OS (and Android in general, Apple convert). Pulled My Pixel 6 out of my bag and it's in "lockdown" mode. The keypad does not appear on the screen. I tried connecting a keyboard via an OTG USB adapter, it's not accepting any input from that keyboard. I'm assuming it's because USB devices are blocked by default, I believe I read that in a different thread. I've tried to re-flash the device via both the web and command line install processes. I'm not able to unlock the boot-loader, I'm assuming that's due to lockdown mode. I wanted to see if anyone had any recommendations on how to either get back into the phone or re-flash it. I'd prefer not to loose all my data, but at this point the phone is a paperweight so either one would be an improvement.

Thanks in advance, and thanks for your patience for a new user.

there is no such thing as a "lockdown mode" on GrapheneOS. You are most likely suffering from a bug here. Do you have a password or a pin set as your unlock method? Is there data on the device that hasn't been backed up that is important to you?

Likely a bug with an alternative keyboard app. You could start the phone in safe mode, which should automatically use the GrapheneOS Keyboard app and then switch your default keyboard.

Thanks for your reply's. Yes I've got a 6 character numeric pin setup to unlock it. If I touch the screen I don't get anything that displays. If I hold down the power button, I get a 3 item menu that says Lockdown, Restart, Poweroff. I'm thinking a bug as well, I have not changed it to use a different onscreen keyboard unless an update could do that on the back-end. It was configured to use the stock keyboard. I likely have some photo's that are not backed up, but at this point I'd be ok with loosing them if I can use the phone.

Also I did try to boot into safe mode, when I do that I get a blank black screen with the word safe at the bottom. The onscreen keyboard does not seem to be working. I also tried my USB keyboard again, but no luck there either. Perhaps the keyboard drivers are corrupted or something like that?

licare90210 nothing to do with USB drivers. The USB port is set to charging only before first unlock most likely, so you would need to unlock the phone to use any USB accessory.
The solution is tricky to find in your case. You could try a hard reset (which simulates a battery disconnect) by pressing the power button, volume up and volume down for around 20 seconds together until the phone shuts off. Also try long pressing the lock icon (on the lock screen) and see if that changes anything. And since there's sometimes a bug related to a race condition with the SIM PIN, try removing the SIM card from the phone (if there's a physical SIM installed). Other than that, I think you would need to factory reset the phone most likely.

Interesting ok I'll try that. If that does not work, what's the best way to do the factory reset?, since I can't login to the phone to do it from the menu.

licare90210 you can do it from the recovery. I'll tell you how to get there:
Turn off the phone first. Wait around 20-30 seconds until it is completely powered off. Next, press and hold the power and volume down buttons until the device vibrates. Ideally you should now be in the bootloader screen. From here, navigate with the volume buttons until "recovery mode" appears next to the power button. Confirm with the power button. You are now in recovery mode and should see a green Android with "no command" printed on the screen. Now as a last step, you need to enable the GUI mode. To do that, hold down the power button and press the volume up button for around one second. You should now have a list of options. Navigate down to factory reset (or it's wipe device, one of those) with the volume buttons again and confirm with the power button (I think you need to navigate down with the volume buttons to confirm). After that last confirmation, you should see a dialog that the device is being wiped. Now navigate back to "reboot system" and confirm with the power button for the last time. The device should now be factory fresh.

Thanks again for your help on this. So I was able follow your instructions and factory reset the phone. Now when I restart it the first time it takes me into the initial setup screens. Intermittently the display will go black, then come back. After about 1-2 minutes, it will crash and the whole process has to be done again. If I just reboot, I get a black screen with no keyboard or other items displayed. If I hold down the power button now I get a menu that just says reboot or power off. Tried to flash but not able to unlock the bootloader. I'm assuming it's because I need to go in and enable oem unlock per the installer instructions (I may be butchering the name) I can't seem to get into the interface to actually do that though. So not sure if there is a way to force an unlock?

licare90210 that sounds either like your installation is somehow damaged or there might even be a hardware problem with the NAND or RAM. If you are quick enough, you should be able to get through the setup wizard to enable OEM unlocking. Just skip all the steps like Wi-Fi, time zone etc. I would actually advise to reflash Graphene first, if the crashing doesn't stop, revert back to stock and try to use it for a while. If the crashes happen there as well, I'm afraid the phone is cooked.
