Wifi Issues on Pixel 7

About a month ago, the wifi on my Pixel 7 running GOS started acting strange. I can connect without issues, and it will work for a couple minutes, then I suddenly don't have internet access even though the phone says the connection is fine. If I toggle wifi off and on again, I get internet for another couple minutes. I don't know if this was after an update or not.

Could it be due to a leftover VPN thing? I don't have a VPN on my phone right now but I have in the past. Is there some credential or something that is cutting internet access? I'm just thinking out loud here, don't really know that much about how that works specifically.

I don't want to have to reset my phone and reinstall GOS, but I've had to CONSTANTLY switch back and forth between wifi and cellular in order to maintain internet access. It's becoming really, really annoying.

Any ideas?

owend30 A couple of things that I can think of trying would be:

make sure you're not using private DNS: go to Settings > network & internet > private DNS and set to either off or automatic
while in the owner profile, try resetting some network settings in Settings > System > Reset options. You can try resetting both mobile network settings and bluetooth & wifi.

This makes me think the connectivity check works but something about your setup is causing problems. Do you use multiple profiles? And if you do, do all profiles have the same issue?

owend30 Is this true for all Wi-Fi networks (including corporate or public networks) or only some Wi-Fi networks?

other8026 It appears to have been private DNS. I had mine set to Quad9.

It's interesting because I've had that set for a while now and it only recently started having this issue.
