do apps have any access to find out current phone number of sim?

I am hoping to be able to put a different sim in, install instagram in a profile, verify it by sms with that temporary number, then take out that sim and put my real every day sim in, but I absolutely do not want instagram or tiktok to ever find out my real phone number that will be the sim from then on. Is there any way at all that an app can find out the phone number of the installed sim at any time?

In addition to Phone, there are SMS and Call logs permissions that would allow phone number to be read.

Use a street/public phone for verification, it works sometimes.

I don't even think these exist anymore in my country., and I think these apps want sms verification anyways.

rellhom Street/public phones do support SMS as a legacy feature: the SMS text is read out to you over the phone. I've done it for years. You must have landline phones in hotel lobbies etc. I'm surprised you don't.

Probably9857 it may appear so but without the Phone permission you don't get access to SMS or Call logs. It doesn't work the other way around.
