hey guys,
just wanted to ask incase anyone else has ran into the same "issue". after restoring my pixel 6 pro from grapheneos to stock android using the back to stock tool from google, when trying to activate google pay it never allows me to add the card. have contacted google (no help unsurprisingly), my bank says its something to do with mastercard and new "digital checks". it appears my restore to stock was completed fine and google play verification passes however yeah whenever adding a new card (specifically mastercard) havent been able to test visa etc it just fails with a "contact your bank for assistance"
specifically the bank has said "the declines on your device are likely due to tightened Mastercard Digital Enablement Service (MDES) rules which have been updated over the past few months due to factors from the digital wallet provider"
planning on trading it in for a p9p as my contact with the phone is coming to an end and just simply went back to stock for the trade in and tested this feature and got curious as to why. if anyone has any input or faced similar issue will be glad for any advice or confirmation for my sanity. not specifically needing a solution just wanted to have peoples thoughts etc. please ask if you require any further details. also i followed the GoS back to stock guide and wiped the boot key as well.
running android 15 beta, however same issue occurred on 14, enrolled in the beta program and upgraded to see if it helped but seems to not be a bug, bootloader locked, usb debugging is off.
Cheers guys.
p.s hopefully general tag is acceptable if not move to off topic :)
