Music in wired headphones (USB-C to phono jack) stops when screen is turned off

Hardware:

Pixel 6 Pro with a USB-C port (and no headphone port)
USB-C to 3.5mm Female Headphone Jack Adapter with built-in DAC this one

Problem:

I use a USB-C to mini-phono adapter to listen to music on wired headphones.

When I turn the screen off, the music stops after a second. I do not have this issue with bluetooth headphones.

Desired Result:

I want to be able to listen to wired headphones connected through a USB-C to phono jack adapter.

What I have tried:

Enabling "Allow new USB devices peripherals" in Security → USB accessories
Plugging in the headphones and adapter prior to starting the music app
Plugging in the headphones and adapter after starting the music app
Tried multiple music apps with the same result (SimpleMobileTools Music Player, Odyssey, VLC, etc)

This leads me to believe there is an issue with Android or GrapheneOS disabling the USB-C to phono jack cable when the screen is off.

Does anyone know how to address this problem?

wild-rain-distant-drum Could be battery saver is on? Might need to give permission for unlimited Data or Battery if using Data saver or Battery Saver

It works for me.
I have to plugin the headset before I open the app.

Make sure that "Pause app activity if unused" toggle is turned off in App-Info for your music app.
Another thing you can try is allow notifications for your music app. I think Android forbids apps to run in the background without an active notification (not really sure about that).

I had problems with my USB-C adapter as well. Got random USB-disconnects, but not when screen turned off.
Bought the adapter from ANKER which works just fine.

wild-rain-distant-drum i answered your other post but works no problems besides google pay. Uber is the reason why you would need a 2nd phone however.

f13a-6c3a If the DAC itself is the problem try ANKER. Works for me on Pixel 6a.

wonder75 Nah, not really an alternative - my purpose for a DAC is to get good sound, not to just connect wired headphones, and the Ankler dongle is ok for the later but not the former

I turned off "Pause app activity if unused" but it has no effect on the problem.

If wonder75 is on the right track, it may be some interaction between the USB-C DAC and the OS?

Any other thoughts on this?
