  • Pls advise on Pros and Cons of "organising" apps install across user profiles

Hi, I have question about "organising" apps installations across different use profiles. I understand that it may be a kind of artificial question, so pls excuse me for that.

Originally I thought I would organise them in some way. Like I first install apps in owner profile that I would later use in most of user profiles. For example - f-droid and VPN would be installed first in Owner profile and then would be copied into non-owner profiles. However, I'm not certain about apps that are not needed in Owner profile, but those needed in all non-owner profiles (like Obtanium as I don't plan to install any apks of that kind).

Pros:

  • convenience of creation profiles: upon creation of one-time guest profile or re-setup of user profile, I don't need to manually go to f-droid and install apps like VPN of f-droid
  • convenience of updating apps: as owner profile is "always" active, all "generic" non-GOS apps will be updated regardless if I'm actively using specific secondary profile or not

Cons:

  • owner profile is "bloated" (not many, but still) with apps that I don't frequenly use in owner profile, as I'm not "supposed" to use owner profile, putting increased "surface of attack" aside.
  • if I figure out certain app is good for all profiles, I need to 1st go into Owner profile and install it from there, then "copy" instead of

So, are there any other benefits and downsides of getting into hassle of "organising" apps installations that way?

mmobder Just a note that you can "disable" apps in the owner profile once you've pushed them to other profiles. So still kind of bloated, but they won't be running/operating at least.
