I updated to Android 15 on the Stable channel yesterday, and I use Silence as the default app for SMS, but I can't allow the app to set it back to default for SMS.
Is it Android 15 that's blocking this?

IRL Silence is discontinued since 5 years, don't expect it to be properly functional on Android 15 with the change in AOSP authorization requirements upstream.

@IRL While other person has let you know Silence is no more have not suggested what you can use for SMS.

I personally use https://github.com/octoshrimpy/quik which can be installed via that URL using Obtainium or it's Github releases page via direct APK: https://github.com/octoshrimpy/quik/releases. If you are using Obtainium rememeber to use AppVerifier to verify the certificate hashes :)
    More info on that: https://github.com/soupslurpr/AppVerifier

I use it for encrypting my SMS/MMS

It's completely defective and you shouldn't use it, your contacts also have to use the same osbsolute app, it makes much more sense to convince to use reliable apps like Signal, Molly and SimpleX rather than put effort into poor quality products, even WhatsApp is a better choice.

Xtreix I would have to agree with this.

Deku SMS encrypts SMS, I was desperately looking for a similar application, thanks anyway for informing me
