ryrona Are there really no alternative SMS app that works? Not even on Google Play?
I don't know but I'm not very motivated to test a bunch of different SMS apps to be honest.
matchboxbananasynergy In a private space, or owner? Cannot reproduce in Owner.
In owner and private space, in the owner profil, I get this message when I open another SMS application (QUIK here) : "App was denied access to default SMS app. The app requested access to sensitive permissions which can put your personnal and financial info at risk, it's possible that the app won't work properly without these restricted permissions, learn how to allow access"
"learn how to allow access" is underlined, it seems to be a link but it doesn't work when I type on it.
I then tried in my second profile and it's the same thing, I get the same message with QUIK and downloading Google Message in Sandboxed google play fails.
GGORG I disabled the AOSP Messaging app pretty much since the beginning with the settings UI
Ah, so I wasn't dreaming and my memory was right, it's just not advisable to do so to avoid unexpected behavior, so it's probably best that it's no longer possible to disable it via the settings UI.
