I suppose that's for the best. I just called their support and got a script monkey that insisted that the only way I would be able to get the app to work on my phone would be to install another third-party OS that's capable of running rooted. I shit you not. I had to clarify that point three times over the phone just to make sure I wasn't understanding that incorrectly. They only want to talk to Google-blessed OSes, but don't want to admit it publicly.

biscuit_tosser_88 Are you willing to share a link or two that describes your setup? I just installed the myQ app on a pixel6a GrapheneOS device, and am getting the 401.122 error, too. I would be very interested to go "off app" as you describe, and would like to know more about the automation hub and z-wave device connection, as you describe. Thanks for any help you can send my way.

I am having the same exact problem as above.
I also remember reading this thread a couple of years ago on Android 14 and the secure app spawning was able to be changed and settings under privacy on a different profile.
For some reason on Android 15 it's impossible to change. It's missing. Had to log into my owner profile under Settings Privacy, exploit protection and change it there.
Tried giving the app all permissions plus turning off secure apps spawning.
Deleting and reinstalling the application didn't help.
I am able to use the application on my Pixel 7 Pro but on the Pixel 9 Pro XL I am getting the same exact error
I have noticed that on my Pixel 9 the app version is different though. (Newer version)
Also on my P9ProXL the myq application is on a different profile, same as on my Pixel 7 Pro.

GrapheneOSJunkie Same issue here, Pixel 9 Pro XL. Nothing seems to get MyQ past the error after entering login credentials. It's a garbage app from a garbage company that just wants to sell you more stuff.

Pixel 9a, same issue as of June 2025. Can't even find a support contact email cause everything is AI walled at this day and age. Giving up, not worth their bull.

Same on Pixel 8. Play Store installed and compatibility mode on. Seems it just wants to have more access than necessary and wont do its job other wise. I doubt they'll ever change this but I'm following just in case

I enabled exploit protection compatibility mode and got error 401.122 after attempting to log in.
I disabled exploit protection compatibility mode, disabled Secure App Spawning, rebooted, same error.

After digging deeper into this, I have found a way to get myQ working on GrapheneOS.

To ensure you have the genuine APK file, verify its hash using AppVerifer (this is the same hash from Google Play):

Install the APK
Sign in using your preferred method. (If you have a VPN enabled, you may need to turn it off or enable split tunneling until you complete these steps)
The app may freeze. That's fine and expected behavior. Simply close out of the app.
Update the app using the Google Play store.

You should already be logged in once the app is updated. With this method, I was able to finally set up the garage door that came with my house. Opening the garage door was fine, but I encountered an error closing it. Your mileage may vary!

If a future version of the app patches this workaround, the latest version that worked for me was 5.308.1.1017216 (versionCode 1017216).

Also, all dynamic code loading and other exploit protections can be set to default after the update if they were turned off during the old apk install.
