So I am getting an unhelpfull error with the ebay app when I try to login, which is "Invalid request". I did a search on for ' ebay app' on the forum and only found 2 posts which dont appear to shed any light on what is causing the issue -

So as per my reply in the first thread (which can be deleted btw), can I confirm what the ebay app actually requires? In the aurara store its says it requite GSF, but lots of apps have this requirement and work just fine. So is there some other requirement that I have yet to discern?

GSF is installed on the owner profile and GPSs are installed along with Google Play on a seperate profile.

ebay app version - 6.177.1.1, permissions, network only.

thanks.

AcidDemon was the first thing I did, then did that uninstalled and reinstall, same issue.

On the other profile that has GooglePlayServices, GooglePlay, ebay works as exspected, so the question then I supposed is, doe the app actually require GPS and not GSF..?

b1k3rdude why not use web interface for Ebay? This will not give you any issues if you don't need (are addicted to) notifications.

Do you use a VPN? In my experience ebay had a tendency to just fail the login on both mobile and PC (using the website) when VPN was on. I wouldn't be surprised if the app would also fail the login because of it.

yeah this issue is normal, I had it as well. You definitely need Play Services for the initial login. It also requires network access. If you give the required permissions, try to disable and reenable Play Services and the eBay app for it to take effect.

I had the same issue. It seems that eBay app does require the play store to have internet access. With internet access only for play services I was not even able to do a search without a login in the ebay app. weird.
(I am using username + pasword for login, not Google or facebook)
