Tracfone no longer working on Pixel 6a

Colvdv Does some other SIM work in the phone? If not, maybe there is a problem with the cellular modem.

The Pixel 6a is functioning properly with Mint Mobile's SIM card.
The Tracfone SIM card is functioning properly in another phone.

So something must have changed with the software that has caused the issue. I've decided to just switch carriers to Mint Mobile, so that'll solve everything for me. But the devs should be aware that something is going on in case the problem was indeed caused by a software update.

Have the exact same issue. Seems that the APN for TracFone users is outdated. I can't seem to add a new APN or correct the old one. I've called tracfone's support line and texted "APN" to 611611. A possible solution may be changing the APN profiles in the source code and then build from source. I might try that. Anyone, will that work?

Jam0s the solution was found in this post "https://discuss.grapheneos.org/d/4654-tracfone-sms-and-calls-working-but-not-mobile-data". It doesn't seem you can add your own APN anymore though. And the config suggested in on one of the comments seems to be outdated.

Can you report the GrapheneOS build number you are running? What steps are you taking to add an APN and what goes wrong?

de0u Yes, my current build number is 2024110700. The steps I've taken to add an APN are to go to Access Point Names, select the add button and to copy the default profile excluding the APN: "TRACFONE.VZWENTP", and instead use the recommended "VZWINTERNET" APN. I've also attempted to copy the profile recommended on the tracfone website. However, I'm unable to edit or create my own APN. Once I select save my custom APN is not added. Sorry for not responding sooner.

Do you receive any error message? For example, I just tried making a bogus APN (I set a name and left everything else blank) and when I tried to save it told me "The APN can't be empty".

Verizon demand that phones that work on their network include the privileged MyVerizonServices app. GrapheneOS does not include this or other similar privileged carrier apps.

The provision of the correct APN and carrier configs is surprisingly complex. There are some included in AOSP but they are often out of date or incomplete. We extract more up to date and complete versions of these files from each monthly stock PixelOS release and include them in our GrapheneOS builds. Some carriers have their setups provisioned via Play Store. We download these and also include them.

Verizon provisions the correct APN settings for Tracfone from the MyVerizonServices app.

There is an issue with the APN editor, which was recently rewritten in compose, which blocks the ability to edit the APN for tracfone. This issue exists on stock, but is a non-issue as MVS provides the correct APN.

We do not have developer resources available to work around these issues.
Suggest you change to a different carrier.

I have a verizon total wireless SIM that I had removed from an iphone into my pixel 8a. It worked flawlessly for a month until rebooting after 2024120900 build. I now have no mobile data.

The strange thing is that my cell service still works, I can send sms and phone calls and connect to wifi. But there is zero mobile data. It works fully when back in iphone.

I dont believe its an IMEI problem because cell service still works.

I reset mobile network settings and I toggled through all options under internet connectivity check, all possible solutions I found on this forum and none worked. Any other things I can try?
