Hello guys :)
I would love to get some help about the okcupid app, I downloaded it using google play, and when i enter the app its says:
"Missing System WebVie"
"On Android Lollipop (5.0+), your device must have the Android System WebView app installed in order to use this app"

It gives me an option to click "install APK", when i click it, it redirects me to google play to a page that installs "Android System WebView". When i install it, i get the next error: "couldnt install Android System WebView".

Can you guys help me resolve this issue please?

ErnestThornhill I have already seen this thread. Accoriding to this thread, I need to install the Android System WebView in order for okcupid to work. The problem is i cant install it, when i try to install it from google play, i get the next error: "couldnt install Android System WebView".

I somehow managed to install it on one of my users, i probably somehow configured the settings properly in order to be able to install it, but i cant manage to redo it, it was pure luck that i succeeded :(

I'm not sure what you did that it would've worked, but Android System WebView is not usable on GrapheneOS. Only Vanadium System WebView can be used.

Each package can be installed only once on a GrapheneOS device (subsequent installs of the same version of the same package will fail). You could try deleting it from the profile that has it, then installing it in the owner profile, then sending it to the other profiles via "Install available apps".

de0u I have deleted the Android System WebView that i have miraculously installed on one of my users as you said. Unfortunately, i have tried to download it again on another user, even in the admin, from Google Play Store, but it doesnt work. The error i get is: "Can't install Android System WebView" when i click on "install" in the Google Play Store.

By the way, the same user can still download the Android System WebView again after i deleted it. It seems like i did somthing on this user that im not aware of, that enables the user to download it.

okcupid needs Android System WebView to run, it doesnt use it, i guess it just checks that it exists to get its ID. Are there any other solutions that you might think of?

This is the link of the app that okcupid wants me to install:
      https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.google.android.webview
(for some reason i cant fine this app exactly on google play store when i search its name, so i gave out the link instead)

Bacura I have no idea. You might try looking through the system log to see if there is some information about why the install is failing in the one profile but succeeding in the other.

de0u Thank you for your quick responses!, May i ask how do i find this system logs?

btw, i succeded only on one user only (pure luck i guess), on the rest of the users it didnt work.

Press down and hold on the app's icon, tap on App info and then tap on View logs.

              Thank you for your responses!

I have extracted both the logs of Google Play Store of the user that had succesfully installed Android System WebView, and the logs of the user that gets an error when he tries to install Android System WebView. I have tried to compare them, and obviously, the logs are different, but i really have no idea what the hell is going on there, and how to even start finding the problem.

Is there any professional, or an expert that you know of, that i can talk to regarding this topic?
