Hi All

So I recently moved to Graphene and for the most part it's working fine.
However I've got Google assistant and Android auto and playstore. Whilst I could live without these I really didn't want to.

Given the fact I'm still fairly intagrated in the Google ecosystem is graphene a good fit to me or should I just go back to stock?
The main reason I moved to graphene was I wanted a little bit more security, and a bit more control over my privacy.

You can still use Play Store (which is in fact better on Graphene than on Stock) and Android Auto though. I would imagine Google Assistant probably doesn't pass security checks on Graphene or something, but someone else can confirm if it works or not.

Makes complete sense to me to use a more security- and privacy-hardened operating system.

The overall user experience with GOS is still much better.

I've been running stock Android on my new P9P until I install GOS. Forgot how many annoying notifications and apps that are running I can't disable or stop...

GOS from an experience standpoint is just a lot less noisy.

As long as you get the main functions you are looking for - well - it can't hurt!

Installing Google apps is perfectly fine on GrapheneOS. Plenty of benefits still exist when using Graphene even with Google stuff. I feel like there was a pretty good comment from Matchbox on this recently, but can't seem to find it, so here's two comments from other8026 instead:

I have a similar set-up running Google services and full, including voice activation on wireless Android Auto. The one thing with my set-up, or my settings is that the Google app does not work with contact scopes. If I try to use scopes, voice and assistant do not play nice. With that said, all of this on GOS is so much better than stock !

I've have a few issues but I think that was nova launch or my icon pack.

I'm glad I'm not the only person running gos this way I get some people can degoogle but I have spent thousands on pro apps over the years and some of them are my daily drivers.
Altough I'm moving most things to auruoa and fdroid

God Seems pretty good, my battery is atleast 25% better and charging seems quicker.

I do miss Google pay and playstore pay via my phone network but small price to pay.

lcalamar the main reason I searched out and found GOS a few years back was not so much to de-google, but reduce the noise. Much more control on GOS with permissions, etc. Set the phone the way I want.
