Hi to you all!
I have a small problem regarding WiFi connectivity on my Pixel 7a. Because I'm always a bit far away from my WiFi router, the connection isn't very good all the times, but always sufficient to use. However, Android constantly decides to switch to my cellular data, explaining this with "Low Quality" under the WiFi's name. That's pretty annoying because it drains my mobile data a lot, and I need it when being actually away from the WiFi.
I've found out this is an adaptive feature designed to ensure a constantly stable connection called "Adaptive Connectivity", but it's more of an inconvenience for me than delivering an actual benefit. The WiFi is clearly in reach, it's still listed and always has at least one out of the 4 "bars" in the symbol, but the system still decides to use cellular.
Online tutorials tell me to deactivate Adaptive Connectivity. This does not work because there is no such setting in the AOSP (at least that's my assumption).
I am also mainly using a secondary profile, so constantly switching back to the main user in order to deactivate cellular data is very time consuming to mitigate this issue and force the system to use WiFi. But when I do so, it works. It's still rather a workaround, not a fix.
Is there any actual way to fix this and stop it from preferring my (rather precious) mobile data over a slightly weak WiFi connection?
I guess this problem might also be upstream...
Thanks in advance!
