  • USB Tethering from Mobile Router to GrapheneOS possible?

  • [deleted]

I am currently thinking about getting a Pixel for Graphene, use it without a simcard and get a mobile router (like a Glinet Muddi) in case i need mobile data.

The issue with that is, if i just use the wifi functionality of the router to connect the pixel literally everyone that listens in on wifi could track the movements via ssid / mac of ether the router or phone. (Even if the phone randomizes it, the router still would be static and there also would be the ssid that cant be changing unless i constantly want to reconnect to the "new" wifi)

So what about the usb tethering option, i know the pixel can tether its own network connection to other devices via usb, but can it also be on the receiving end?

Since you mention Glinet Mudi, You can install something called blue merle to randomise BSSID (i think it does this on every boot) and IMEI (changes everytime you change sim) if you do that with a generic SSID like Free Wifi or something, it would be pretty hard to track.

However if you wanna drop WIFI totally you can turn it off in the mudi and get your phone a Ethernet adapter and connect to the mudi via ethernet.

Not sure if you can actually directly reverse tether from the modem to the Pixel phone but ethernet works great.

EmLeX932 would it good to leave the pw blank? If he just use it in public, and share the internet with the public, he can hide in the crowd, no one could say it was him because it could be the others

GL-E750V2 EM060K variant because it supports (CAT6 4g: more frequency bands at once)and still allow for blue merlje
