So I'm about to get a Pixel 8 in a few days, and I rally want to try and degoogle my phone habits. I've already done aot while still in stock Android (using proton suite, third party open source apps, VPN, etc), but of course Graphene OS is the next step. I have still a few doubts though.
1-Installation: it seems easy enough, but is there any chance of bricking a brand new phone?
2-Google photo alternative: I have a toddler, which means tons of pictures daily that have to be stored and shared with the wife. Is there an app (or an app combo) close enough to what Google photo provides?
3-Android Auto: does it work seamlessly? I tend to get stressed while driving, so I really need it to work without hiccup?
4-Google Maps/Waze alternatives : self explanatory, are there good, not too expensive, alternatives to these apps?
Beyond that, any advices before switching? Anything that I should be considering before I dive?
Thx!
