I don’t know how long this has been the case for now, but I’ve now realized that my phone (Pixel 6) can’t receive calls anymore. I can call other people just fine, SMS and mobile data work. When others call me they hear the same thing they would hear if my phone did ring but I didn’t answer. But my phone does not ring or show any notification. I have combed through settings: there are no forwarding settings, no blocked numbers, the SIM is active, Do Not Disturb is inactive, and notifications and alert tones are not disabled. I’ve had a similar problem before, where incoming calls triggered a notification but did not ring or show a fullscreen call prompt. My carrier is O2 (German brand of Telefónica).
I have also noticed that System UI crashes or freezes more often, the phone is warmer than usual (though this may be due to warmer ambient temperatures), throttles refresh rate and such more often, and sometimes the home button or task switcher button doesn’t work. Some apps freeze after I take screenshots of them from the task switching overview.
If the physical condition of my phone is in any way related, it does have a cracked screen (and what appears to be a gasket on the edge that’s ripped and exposes part of the screen) and cracked backside glass. I believe this is unlikely to be the cause of the specific problems with calling, as all other features at least usually work. I would not be surprised if the general stability and performance regression were caused by this physical damage though.
Is there a possibility that there is some setting or bug in GrapheneOS that is contributing to this?
