How to disable widevine (DRM)?

I noticed the "Widevine provisioning" setting under "Network & internet." There isn't an option to disable it. Is there a way to disable Widevine or DRM another way (preferably completely)?

This is unrelated to security; I just personally have a vendetta against DRM and don't want it on my devices.

It's something that might be possible in the future, but not currently.

matchboxbananasynergy I think disabling Widevine is an important feature, because the Widevine ID (which I believe is unique to the hardware, correct me if I'm wrong) can be used to fingerprint the user across user profiles. Currently, this access is permissionless. I think there should be a popup when an app tries to access the Widevine API, and the user should have to grant access to it, similar to how it works in Firefox.

This is issue #2314. It's OK to subscribe to it, or to add a thumbs-up at the top, but the developers have requested that users don't add "me too" posts to issues.
