  • Mobile data connectivity issues in secondary profiles due to private DNS??

This is a fairly recent issue, affected me I think within the past week. Main profile (No GSF) mobile data works fine but no internet connection on secondary(GSF)/tertiary(no GSF) profiles. The icon for 5g+/LTE still shows on all profiles. Creating a completely new profile yields no connection as well. Main thing I was able to find was that changing my DNS server from my private one (tried both NextDNS and Cloudflare) to Automatic was what resolved the connectivity issue. Private DNS works perfectly fine on Wi-Fi on all profiles.

Which carrier? In theory a carrier might block a particular DNS service. Can you borrow a SIM card for another carrier?

de0u Using TMobile as a carrier for almost a year and used NextDNS during that entire span. The issue only recently popped up. I don't have another SIM to borrow from another carrier so I'm not sure I can test that aspect.

Likea Thanks for reporting back. I'm glad it works, but I wasn't expecting that as an answer. I think a private DNS server should work over a VPN... you might try some different configurations, maybe a different VPN.
