JuiceSSH is made for an older version of Android?

I'm looking for an SSH client and everyone recommends JuiceSSH, but I can't install JuiceSSH from Google Play because it tells me it isn't available for my device because it was made for an older version of Android. My friend, who is using the same Android version (Android 14) on a stock Android OS, can download JuiceSSH.

What's going on here?

I'm not any kind of expert, but I would guess this is probably either down to being on a bad targetSDK and/or being 32-bit, which may or may not be blocked by GrapheneOS. Either way, its not a good idea to use that app anyway as it hasn't been updated since 2021.

May I ask why you're using JuiceSSH over Termux, which I hear is recommended (I've only ever heard of Termux and not JuiceSSH)?
Does Termux not do what you need it to?

I don't know. I've never used an SSH client on Android before. I just need a terminal and SSH—anything else is extra. Everywhere I look, everyone recommends JuiceSSH. Isn't Termux much more than an SSH client? Also, they sign their APK files with a test key that's publicly available.

Don't know. I don't use it. I just know its a terminal emulator like JuiceSSH.

And as stated on their github, it can't be used to impersonate them. As long as you're installing updates only from the official repo, there shouldn't be an issue. Besides, the test key is just for the github APKs anyway. If you're concerned still, you can install from Fdroid (you can use Obtainium to install from Fdroid if you wish to avoid their app) or Google Play as per their instructions.
