WhatsApp : could not start conversation

In this profile, calls and SMS are toggled off. I installed all Google's Sand boxed apps. I don't use google accounts.
I downloaded WhatsApp from Aurora.
WhatsApp is activated, but I can't tap a number to send a message. Contact, network, sensor and notification are allowed.

How to make it work ?

Have you given WhatsApp access to contacts? I rarely use WhatsApp, but I seem to remember it requires access to phone contacts to work properly.
