Cannot get Tablet to appear in Web Installer Bootloader

Attempting to install Graphene on brand new Pixel Tablet.

I am using:

Up to date Ubuntu 22.04 LTS
Up to date (non-Snap) version of Brave Browser

I've followed every step and cannot get the tablet to appear for the life of me. Have tried multiple USB-A to Type-C cords, and alternated between both USBs on my laptop (Dell XPS 13 9350) to no avail.

What could I be missing here? I installed Graphene on a Pixel I owned about 4 years ago and didnt have any issues using the Web Installer

PixTabHelp Can you list the steps you've gone through so far?

Can you try a different browser?

When the ~~phone~~ tablet is plugged in, does lsusb show any sign of it?

PixTabHelp If you have a GOS phone it worked perfectly for me yesterday. In USB settings my phone insisted on saying "managed by other device" and wouldn't switch. When I clicked the links in vanadium it popped up "connect to pixel tablet" and I had it flashed within a couple of minutes.

I've updated both tab and Ubuntu to latest versions
Enabled OEM Unlocking
Installed Brave (I use the Snap version normally) and removed Shields
Installed android-sdk-platform-tools-common
Ran sudo systemctl stop fwupd.service
Booted to fastboot, no compatible device found when trying to unlock bootloader.

I ran lsusb from one USB and did not pick up the tablet, but ran it from the other and did.

I did notice that in FastBoot Mode: 'Device State' displays 'Locked' in green. Is this normal? Would that have any bearing?

Edit: Maybe a key missing detail here is that it was purchased second hand... The previous owner only booted it up and set up the device only for him to put it back in it's box. When I received it, before performing a full reset i noticed he was still signed in.

Is referring to my laptop's touchscreen. It just so happened to not be present when I ran lsusb earlier from one USB. So no, the tablet is in fact not appearing in lsusb device list

Somehow this must be diagnosed and surmounted.

Does the tablet's USB port work at all? Can you use it for a mouse/keyboard, or a flash drive?

de0u Just plugged in a Seagate Drive and it picked up instantaneously, so not hardware related. Is the device state supposed to be 'locked' when I'm in Fastboot Mode?

Edit: iPhone picks up when plugging in as well.

I expect the device will show as "locked" until the "unlock bootloader" step has occurred.

Is it the case that the device does not show up in lsusb neither while it's in the bootloader nor while it's running the Pixel OS?

de0u Dug up an old Windows laptop. Updated it, connected the tablet and nothing. I have two cables ive been alternating so I just purchased a new one on Amazon. It has to be the cable at this point.

Tablet did not appear in Device Manager when attached to any USB. This is driving me mad!!!

Personally I would recommend cables by Cable Matters, Anker, Belkin, and/or Best Buy (my 6a was flashed via a Best Buy USB-A-to-C cable).

MolRas66 Unfortunately I no longer have my Graphene-flashed Pixel. I believe I would still run into the issue of the device not being recognized being that Ubuntu nor Windows will pick up this dang Tablet. Something is preventing the tablet from appearing and it appears to be an issue stemming from the tablet itself

Might it make sense to go back a step?

If you plug a USB keyboard/mouse into the Ubuntu machine, lsusb shows the keyboard/mouse, correct? What if you plug a USB keyboard/mouse into the Pixel Tablet? Does the Tablet react to an input device?

Did you change the USB connection to "data transfer"? In settings

Naturally USB de-bugging was off in Developer settings but I did try turning it on along w/ changing the USB to Data Transfer. No luck. Also tried PTP. Nothing. Performed a factory reset via Recovery Mode in fastboot (vs resetting in the settings) and still nothing. I'm at a loss. Can the previous owner having temporarily attached his Google account to the tablet have any kind of security lock that would prevent access to the tablet?
