        I can confirm the problem. Installed version 0.27.1.

        The feed is loaded but individual videos can't be played. Instead, a window pops up saying “An error has occurred, see the notification.” The error message then refers to a “network error”.

          Rasta9 thank you! Meanwhile I downloaded it from their website with the advantage of having all plugins needed.

            Rasta9 the f-droid repository is quite outdated. The last update of grayjay there was 6 weeks ago and is several versions behind. The only reliable way I have found for keeping Grayjay up to date is by using the self-updating APK from grayjay.app.

            I'd prefer if I could use Obtainium or F-droid so that the updates happen in the background and not when I open the app with the intent of using the app.

              I now have a pixel 8 which is on stock and have problems with 0.27.1 version of Newpipe

                [deleted] yeah, youtube messed with the API again yesterday, nothing but invidious and grayjay seem to be working right now.

                    Can anyone share on how to get notifications working on grayjay?

                    After updating NewPipe to v0.27.2, the app seems to work fine again.

                    I tried Newpipe today since Brave does not play any YouTube movie at all without logging in?!
                    But Newpipe will not play any movie too; Content not available?

                      GOS21606 Try disabling VPN and try again. That's what I did and it worked. I also tried this on another phone running stockOS, same thing. Same with LibreTube by the way.

                        I'm pretty sure Grayjay is not distributing the videos through proxy like Piped, so while providing more reliability than Newpipe, it could come with some privacy considerations. If you're intentenion is to hide from Google, you may want to restrict watching videos on Grayjay to only when you're on a VPN. The same rule applies for a lot of other privacy focused frontends.

                        I have the latest version of NewPip (from F-Droid Repo). Unfortunately, NewPipe hasn't worked with me for months. I can't see Youtube anymore. It seems like not all have this problem.

                        I don't wish to disable VPN. Sorry!

                          Scott it's not an issue with newpipe. You're being blocked by YT due to VPN usage, they force captcha every now and then but NP won't show it. What you can do is open the same link from NP in a browser and you'd see a captcha there which you can solve and watch the vid.

                          How you can solve it is to change the exit node for the tunnel. Unfortunately you may need to do it every so often at the discretion of Google..
