Can I delete my gmail acnt from inside the GOS Contacts app?

I have a few contacts stored in the GOS contacts app. I'm assuming there is no tie to the google account I sign into on the phone (for the play store primarily).

Can I delete that account from the "Accounts for owner" section of the Contacts app setup screen, without screwing up the actual google account I'm signed into on the phone for the play store?

Considering that as far as I can tell, the "Accounts for owner" section of the "Contacts app setup screen" you're referring to is actually a section of the OS settings (Settings > Passwords, passkeys and autofill), then the answer is no you cannot. Removing the account from that section will remove the Google account for all apps. Does the Contacts app even use the Google account though? I can't tell if it does.
