Links to sim/esim comments please

There have been some very useful comments posted about activating Google's proprietary software - Can't find them; someone please tell me where they are?
I'm presuming that P7 has the same restrictions and workarounds as P6!?

Pixel 7 should end up pretty much the same as GOS on all the other devices.

Thank you for the reply! Am looking for a discussion I think involved MetropleX which, IIRC, indicated that I could effect the proprietary Google process for Esims before installing GOS - perhaps linking to Google store - and then the phone would work for Esim after scratching/installing GOS; no Google linkage required!?
Also, do you know if I can use a regular sim without involving Google? TIA!

If you have a physical SIM card, no need for Google Play Services. That's the setup I have now. I really don't want to use eSIM if I need Google Play to do it.
