Asks the one who needed to be told that using developer options is not recommended?
I was not "needed" to be told that. They have chosen to tell me something i knew already. Besides, the post you're referring to, is missinformed/incorrect. Trying to poke at me wont make you right.
One should not jump to conclusions here. What it suggests is that it is incorrect to assume that users would know that the developer options should either not be enabled or only temporarily be enabled, when this is not mentioned in the usage guide (which is the only document that users can be expected to read).
The now outdated install guide that you cited previously, explicitly stated that disabling dev mode is part of the install process. Nobody in their right mind would assume that its a good idea to leave it enabled when they were explicitly instructed to turn it off. Its very clear that its supposed to be OFF at all times.
And therefore it's not unreasonable to ask the @GrapheneOS team whether or not the @GrapheneOS team has any plans to do something with that new information, especially when GOS already has some additional USB configuration settings that the stock OS does not have.
I'm not saying you're being unreasonable here. However we have to accept the fact that they can't always respond.
And I'm a 100% sure they would not do this anyways, as this change would have to be maintained from now on, it would expose users to options that wouls severely reduce their security, and it would not benefit most users.
If you're the type of user that needs this, then use the knowledge you gathered from this thread and change the default usb mode in dev mode and then disable them. I'd say less than 3% of users would wanna do this, to warrant implementing this outside of dev mode. Outcome is the same either way.
