Hey kind people. I am new to the ecosystem and so far liking it except I have troble getting the Maps Timeline work which unfortunately would be one of the very few Google apps/services that I want to continue using on GrapheneOS.
The problem: while Maps itself works fine, the timeline is not being recorded even though all related settings are on, including location permissions using Google's own services (I am often without GPS signal underground, etc.).
I am suspecting that my issue might be related to Maps' recent move to store the Timeline locally instead of on the back-end, for the following reasons:
- can't really find anything about this issue on the forums so it might be a new thing
- the application seems to hang for a while any time I am opening the Timeline menu as if waiting some sort of file operation or serivice timeout. This is just conjecture of course
Unfortunately I started using GrapheneOS right around the time Google made this switch so I can't make a before/after comparison.
