GrapheneOS It's very important to have a way to keep apps updated to apply security patches and to keep them working as standards evolve. How will you know when the apps have updates, and are you going to manually download each of them?
Yes, I was planning to manually download each of them. I was hoping that at least in some cases I would not have to update them because I wouldn't connect the phone to the internet, which I assume is what the important updates would provide protection for. But maybe there are other security concerns.(?) If I became aware of an update with a new and helpful functionality, I would consider downloading it in and erasing the previous version.
With APK files, would I need to use the command line to install them? Or is it more of a "plug it in and press 'install'" kind of thing?
Thanks for the reply. Things make considerably more sense to me now.
