skorge Hey ! I had the same thing : RCS activated in the Settings, but no RCS in textbox. When opening the debugging menu, I had "Etouffee provisioned: false".
Something unattended happened. I enabled the "Receive security preview releases" on GrapheneOS update settings, just to test it, unrelated to Google Messages. The update got installed, I rebooted the phone.
When I came back to Google Message, I was able to send RCS messages !
The "Etouffee provisioned" is now at "true".
It's still working now. I don't know if it's related to that update.
Before that, I tried a couple of reboots, it didn't activate. The only changes are this security update.
On a permission perspective :
- Google Messages : all permissions are allowed,
- Google Play Services : Phone, SMS, Network.
- Carrier Services is installed.
I'll continue to test it.
PS : I should precise : I'm on the beta channel of Google Messages.
