Hello everyone,
First of all I would like to thank GOS team for this great firmware, it is the only firmware where I feel like my files are only mine, and nothing automatically decides to upload my data to some cloud, and synchronize it every hour just because I forgot to uncheck some checkbox somewhere deep in settings.
Now to the question: What is the best way to make sure my phone is not infected after it got into hands of a potential attacker? I am planning to cross 4 state borders soon, and some of those borders are known for asking people to check their messenger apps. I dont really have much to hide, but I am not sure they will do the check in front of me. Most likely they will take my phone for 4-5 minutes into some back room and dump all data from it. And even that doesn't sound too bad, because all the secret things (like passwords and private keys) are encrypted in KeyPass, What I am mostly afraid of is to get infected by some kind of virus/app afterwards, because nothing prevents them from installing a new app.
My current idea is to backup my profiles before the trip, and after the trip make sure GOS is genuine (with Auditor), and just do full reset and restore the backup. I am not sure it is going to work, because I never used Auditor and GOS backup/restore, I only manually backed up valuable files (like KeyPass database file).
Is there a better way to make sure your phone was not meddled with? Maybe check some system logs and make sure nobody connected to my phone via usb or installed new apps during last 60 minutes?
